'Jerry Springer' Moving to The CW This Fall

per the article it is replacing Robert Irvine show
Springer will take over Irvine's slot on the network.

also in the article there will be two different shows. One that airs exclusively on CW and one for syndication
Starting next fall, pre-produced and encore episodes of the show will air on The CW as well as in broadcast syndication, although it’s unlikely the show’s syndicated clearances will remain the same as they are now.

In the past, some station groups avoided programming Springer/Maury/Wilkos because of its content. I wonder what some of the more conservatively-programmed CW stations (like WBNX for example) will do? Will they be able to opt out of airing it completely?

In Memphis The Big 4 of trash talk are all on WLMT CW 30, although WMC NBC 5 and WHBQ Fox 13 carry some courtroom and crime shows (Early AM on WMC), which to me are only a small step above trash talk.

In Jackson, TN The Big 4 of trash talk are all currently on CW 100+ until Irvine is dropped. Springer and Maury are on WJKT Fox 16, and WBBJ ABC 7 and WNBJ NBC 39 carry courtroom and crime shows, (WNBJ late night).

And KDNL St. Louis (ABC) still runs Maury to this day, at 3:00PM weekdays. Aren't there a few other ABC/NBC/CBS stations that clear trash talk?
Judge Judy runs on KIMA (CBS) Yakima weekdays at 4-5PM, it's been that way for many, many years - same with KIRO Seattle, also CBS. Hot Bench airs here on KNDO (NBC). Rest of the court shows (that are cleared) are on KCYU. Judge Faith, Couple's Court and any of the Byron Allen scripted shows are NOT cleared here thank goodness.

Another prominent Maury clearance is on Baltimore CBS O&O WJZ. An O&O of a “legacy 3” network!

according to the Maury show website these stations associated with the Big 3 carry it

Montgomery, AL ABC
Talahassee, FL NBC
Macon and Savannah, GA NBC
Nawlins NBC
Joplin, MO NBC
Billings, MT ABC
Eureka, CA NBC

Really? WDSU? I expected better from a Hearst station, especially one in a market that size! In KIEM's case, they dump it to 4AM so it doesn't matter.
KIMA was airing Maury up to about 2003 or 2004, and by then it had gone into DNA/lie detector territory. Thankfully it was dumped off to KCYU (Fox) and replaced. Then KCYU quit running it, the show wasn't seen for several years until CW+ decided to carry it a year or two ago.

So, basically its the end of the Jerry Springer show :( over here in the Providence area it airs every day at 11am on Fox Providence (WNAC-TV 64.1)

Ironically enough, several of the stations that air Springer are owned by Sinclair Broadcasting Group. Late Night with Conan O'Brien once roasted conservative-leaning Sinclair for broadcasting such shock talk/reality shows back in 2004.

In Atlanta, the train wreck shows air on Tegna's WATL (My Network TV), which also runs a few Sinclair-produced shows (Ring of Honor Wrestling). Springer airs at 11 AM, 1 PM and 4 PM (talk about wretched excess).

Thank goodness WDSU finally found something better to air! Maybe Maury will just end up on the My or CW outlets...

And Now talks of Jerry Springer doing a court show is at play here.

Jerry Springer is taking you to court.

Springer, 74, will host a new syndicated daytime courtroom show called “Judge Jerry,” The Post has learned. The series, produced by NBCUniversal, will handle small-claims cases, sources say.

It’s targeted to premiere next fall, following the 28th and final season of Springer’s over-the-top daytime program, “The Jerry Springer Show,” notorious for its outlandish segments — “I’m Happy I Cut off My Legs!”, “You Slept with My Stripper Sister!” — and fistfights between lowbrow guests. It even inspired a musical, “Jerry Springer: The Opera.”

“Judge Jerry” will feature Springer — a former attorney, news anchor and politician — wearing a judge’s robe and seated behind a desk.

It’s expected to incorporate some elements of his notoriously rowdy current program, including a raucous, fist-pumping studio audience breaking into chants of “Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!” and Springer ending the show with his signature line, “Take care of yourself, and each other.”

Like other daytime court shows, including Judy *Sheindlin’s top-rated “Judge Judy,” “Judge Jerry” will feature a bailiff and will be taped in a courtroom setting, with two litigants squaring off against each other and Springer presiding over the cases and rendering a verdict.

The show will be taped in Stamford, Conn., which has been the longtime studio home of “Jerry Springer” and NBCUniversal’s other daytime shows, “Steve Wilkos” and “Maury.”

“Judge Jerry” is expected to air in the same time slots as “Jerry Springer,” which currently airs at 3 p.m. weekdays on WPIX/Channel 11 in New York City.

No words for that. Daytime TV has reached a new low.
