G 105.5 Myrtle Beach

Rock 107.1 does sound great. Good mix of older and newer rock. Not same stale boring classic rock.

Getting back to 105.5 changing formats. Will Energy play more throwbacks then newer music? I know the slogan is #1 for new music, but Energy does seem to play some more gold pop compared to Mix 97.7
I wouldn't have expected that. The whole point of changing was to sound cutting edge.

The old "Star" played quite a bit of gold.

True as Star was Hot AC. At least 94.5 The Tide sounds more AC. There what hurt Star. I'd love for The Tide to move to 92.1 that won't happen

A good AC to check out is K 104.7 out of Charlotte. Sounds really good in my opinion
Well, for a gold-based AC it's really conservative. I still don't like it.

I'm still convinced The Tide is Hot AC.

Hank FM sounded good. I like having a good station in Myrtle Beach for a change. Now THAT'S country music. The other country stations … not really.

Aren't they supposed to have a station ID for the translator when they do the legal station ID for the AM?

Not necessarily, they can FSK ID the translator.. frequency shift key which is in audible to the human ear

Meanwhile G 105.5 is now Hank FM... Which for the life of me, can't understand WHY they decided to go with a Country format, when Myrtle Beach is inundated with Gator, Nash FM, Carolina Country and an overlap of Eagle 92.9.
Well, they've got another one. Coast Country 107.5. I was going to their web site find the evidence that a translator was operating without an AM. Actually, the co-owned AM has changed format. Wikipedia just wasn't up to date. That's Georgetown, but do they really need another one? now oldies Georgetown needs, but so does Myrtle Beach and they don't have it, to my knowledge. Surf is beach music, which is more specialized.

Surprise to see another country station right between Gator 107.9 and Nash 106.5 plus while your in Georgetown you can pick up 92.5 Kickin County and 103.5 WEZL from Charleston.

I'd love to see a station in Myrtle Beach sound like 92.5 Kickin County out of Charleston

Well, it didn't last. Now WGTN is CHR. Adult CHR, to be exact, with more gold than most CHRs.

They sure didnt give the country format much time. Now they want to compete with Mix 97.7 and Energy 92.1 also let's not forget 95sx out of Charleston. Why compete with what's already being done
