According to a loop on WMSO. Air 1 will end operations. The loop is directing listeners to the Air 1 stream and other KLove stations.

Noticed that this morning. Sounds like a business opportunity has just come about for someone. If only I had the moolah.

Was this an LMA situation with a different owner?

EMF owns/owned the station.

98.9 now has southern gospel music and is calling it self "Joy" per RDS. I haven't listened long enough to see if they are playing spots but I would suspect that the signal will remain non-com. This would not have been my choice of programming for the signal but to each to their own. I'm not sure who's running it, there isn't anything showing on the FCC's database yet.

There is a JOY Christian Radio, out of Tullahoma. Tennessee

That's the one I found too. I'll try to give it another listen tomorrow and see if they give any clues.

Could be this group too:

From Wikipedia: WAJV (98.9 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a gospel music format. Licensed to Brooksville, Mississippi, United States, the station serves the Columbus-Starkville-West Point, Tupelo area. The station is owned by Urban Radio Broadcasting. The station has applied for a construction permit from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for an increase to 13,000 watts effective radiated power.[1][2]

Is the same Joy that had several Alabama AMs they couldn't keep on the air?

And didn't Ed Smith make some claims on here awhile back avbout how his group was some savior of radio stations of something that would've other gone away? I'm not much impressed with Joy Christian's track record. The station they have in Tullahoma, TN used to be owned by AFR.. Ed does some work for them, as a news anchor i think..... the station was donated to him in 2012.
