Personalities of WPLM

I know the music on WPLM is great and unique, but what about the personalities on there? It seems like some of them aren't very enthusiastic about being there, and almost never acknowledge the music, especially the morning show with Tom & Billy. It sounds like they would rather be on a CHR station. I also seem to remember a young lady who was on in the overnights named Chelsi White. I actually have a friend who knows her. Does anyone remember her, or know if she's still with the station? Because it seems like other than that, the only female on-air personalities they have are Audrey Constant (who used to also be on Magic 106.7, don't know if she still is) and, of course, Delilah. I noticed that a lot of the DJs have come from other stations, especially Fun 107. Scott Reiniche actually does a pretty good job programming the station. I listen to the Back in the Day easy cafe every day. I remember awhile back thinking they could get David Allen Boucher. And even if that doesn't happen, remember Art Spencer from Lite Rock 105? Do you think he'd be a good fit? I think they also recently hired JR from Fun 107.

Also, I know the station is officially titled "Adult Contemporary," but is it really? It was considered AC back in the day, but I don't know about now. Because every other AC station has changed and WPLM hasn't. And do they still do the Holy Rosary every morning? I know they were up until a year or two ago.

Audrey is no longer at Magic 106.7 anymore.

Correct, the lovely and talented " Hot AC" , Audrey Constant, D.A.B.'s designated fill in and weekender, was burning out from doing both PLM and Magic 106.7.

She chose to focus on her daytime gig.

AC is very passionate about her craft, she does not "mail it in" , she is into it, because she is a radio professional.

There were at one point other women on the station, Dee Dee Rose comes to mind, and there was another woman who did the 7 P to Midnight shift ( her name escapes me at the moment, getting old sucks) but she was beached in favor of the Queen of Sap.

Is she still on WPLM?

I don’t remember DeeDee Rose, but I think the woman you speak of who was on before Delilah was JJ Austin. I actually thought she was pretty good. She was kind of similar to Delilah, except for the fact that she was local. And even though Delilah is still on, it seems like only certain parts of the show are aired, and most of the music is locally programmed.

It turns out Delilah won’t be part of the WPLM airstaff much longer. Instead, they will have 70s at 7, 80s at 8, and 90s at 9! This is great!

How do you know this and when will it happen?

He’s actually the programming director. He does the Back in the Day easy cafe. Great guy.

So that's what he does? I haven't listened to the station in quite a while now, and thought he did the morning show.

I wonder why Delilah is being dropped from Easy 99.1?

In today's radio, her interviews with listeners are seen as kind of old school. Someone sad about a break up or her kid is going away to college. I don't think that's bad, especially at night when AC listening drops. But other than iHeart-owned stations, Delilah has lost quite a few stations. She is now offering a Christian Contemporary version of her show.

I also wanted to add that with Delilah being dropped and the 70s at 7, 80s at 8, and 90s at 9 being added, it really seems like the station is moving away from AC and more toward classic hits. Because I think that’s the type of thing that would be heard on a classic hits station. I’m pretty sure WROR does that, at least they used to. I’m sure Sinatra will also be dropped soon, probably replaced with another edition of AT40. They may even change the name of the station eventually, but not sure to what.

Because there are at least 3 other stations carrying her that can be picked up on the south shore.

The Queen of Sap thing , like her P1's is getting old.

Unless it is strict barter, they can voice track the new shows in house for short money, I do not believe WPLM is live staffed 24/7 anymore.

I always felt sorry for the PM Board Op that had to babysit from 7 to Midnight

I wish that WZID would drop the show as well and replace that something else.

I like listening to the station and would be sad to see it change formats.
