Alt 92.9 signed on this morning

Thanks for posting this. I've been at work all day & haven't had the time. I checked it out on the way home. It does sound good so far. A few interesting things I've noticed. W225AH filed for silent authority just about too weeks ago. No file showing yet for resumption of operations but I'm sure its coming. I Heart has taken over operations of the translator and I'm pretty certain that it is broadcasting from the construction permit on Drake Mountain. No license to cover for the new site showing on file yet either but again I'm sure its coming. I checked out the parent signal on WQRV HD3. Its showing the song titles playing on the display but its dead air. Its not uncommon for WQRV to have technical issues with its HD signals so I can't say I'm too surprised. I also checked out WTAK's HD2 since they have been a new rock/alternative-ish format for years to see if iHeart had decided to change it but it still seems business as usual there. I wonder if it will eventually change to something else.

I figured someone would bring an alternative to Huntsville sooner or later & I figured it'd be an iHeart station since they're really the only ones with HD stations to pair with translators unless an AM combo did it. I'm glad to finally have one & more choice on the radio!

TAK's HD2 is still alt-type rock after all these years, eh? I think it was that back when I still lived in Birmingham years and years ago!

All the iHeart HD subchannels down here in the Mobile area have moved around over the years to where nothing is where it originally was. And TK 101's HD2 changes formats about once every two months, it seems.

Yea Tom. Still Alt rock on TAK HD2. Its been many years and never changed. Still hasn't changed even though Alt is now on another one of their frequencies. Thats a little odd to me but then again WTAK does cover more area south of WQRVs coverage (even though the HD doesn't get out as well) so who knows they may keep it on there.

The two filings I mentioned were likely on the way were indeed filed today and as I expected the translator has moved to the new CP on Drake Mtn. It has an excellent signal all over the county from what I've heard so far.

good signal out in Toney and Hazel Green, don't start hearing anything out of Nashvilles 92.9 trying to cut in until Ardmore, and even then its just a pop here and there. only place I really have had problems with it is a spot on redstone arsenal where everything from drake mtn fades out because of a hill.

meanwhile my little HDR-14 is struggling to hold on to the WQRV-HD3 signal at all here, just 8 miles from the tower, still, I can barely even get TAK HD1 out here.

I noticed about a month ago TAKHD2 had shifted to 90s alt with the "smells like the 90s"generic iheart radio format

I noticed something today. Their legal ID is wrong. It says "W255AH". The correct calls for the 92.9 translator are "W225AH". Channel 225 is 92.9. Channel 255 would be 98.9. What is it about stations in this market that can't seem to get their legal IDs right?

Things like that are probably offloaded to some unpaid intern in a basement in Manhattan.
