I have always been attracted to motor racing of all kinds. Motorcycles (dirt and road), IndyCar, Sprint Car, Drag racing, and even F1. Lately (or maybe not so lately) I have noticed in the F1 broadcasts the use of announcers with pronounced British accents and who all could be nicknamed "Machine Gun Kelly". Not only is it difficult to understand most of these people but the incessant yelling when the action ramps up really gets on my nerves to the extent that I will no longer watch these events.
This morning, for lack of anything better to do, I tuned into the Mexican Grand Prix and, sure enough, there they were.....yelling again. Every time two cars came within inches of each other (and even though not touching) the announcer began screaming into his mic. It was like listening to an old time county fair figure 8 race where the announcer was trying his best to amp up the excitement.
So, once again F1, you are history until you can employ someone like Jackie Stewart or David Hobbs who know how to properly announce a race.
