KCAL 1410 Spanish History

Hi Guys:
More over this message is for David Eduardo. Would you know the Spanish format history for KCAL1410 AM in the 70's 80's and 90's. When did it go Regional Mexican?

Thanks Tommy C.

The term "regional Mexican" did not develop until the 80's. It's a term that came out of record retailing in the US, and was not brought from Mexico.

Since it went Spanish language, KCAL has been Mexican programmed in the sense that the target audience was always of that heritage. Back in the 70's that meant mostly ranchera and norteña, then adding banda and the newer variants as they became popular.
