Anyone there ? (Paradise - Chico - etc)

Report of fire at Jarbo Gap. That means that 100.3 KHEX might be gone. Anyone have any info on what stations have been hit by the fire?

used raido locator to check it web site still on and the web stream is still on (came up very quickly to). Nothing about fires on their web site though.

KBQB's transmitter is near Paradise, the same with KKXX-AM 930. Are they still on?

Websites are seldom hosted at a station, but through a hosting service or on corporate computers in a secure location. Even if something happens to the station, the site continues on.

Having a stream running, though, would indicate the station is operational unless they have backup files on the server that get played if the feed from the station is interrupted.

Let's hope for the best for our colleagues in the Paradise area... and for the currently silent LPFM in Malibu.

It sounds like KBQB's transmitter was spared.

At least they make no mention of being off the air... Anyone know for sure? Not a lot of "radio station" chatter out of the north state.

KBQB and KZFR share the same site on Nimshew Road. I heard from the KZFR GM that the fire burned up to the perimeter of the KZFR fence but structure protection was in full force by that time and it was saved. Power was another story. Backup generators ran for days.
