Ole man Rea has been amongst the missing in Jan from the show WITHOUT explanation as per the course used by nitwit PD's constantly.
Unfortunately he's back, fullfilling the hopes and dreams of all the "Flappers" and "Notch Babies" in nursing homes across 38 states.

Where's the "Champagne Lady" or "Grace, Queen of the Cockamames" when you need them!

Howie regularly reminds his audience he was in SAG and gets a periodic residual check for $1 or so a couple of times per year as a result.

I'm surprised he doesn't charge his listeners a buck every time he mentions his SAG association.....he charges them for everything else....including entrance to his big birthday bash today.

The way I decipher Mr. Pyne's oblique prose, Dan Rea disappeared from his WBZ shift for some time and his replacement(s) apparently never mentioned why, or when or if he'd return. This was blamed on a "nitwit PD." The "Bob Gigante" he quotes is Bob Grant, a repulsive New York radio legend and IMO the only true nitwit mentioned in any of the posts so far.
 
I'm no longer a talk radio listener so I didn't know Rea was missing. Assuming he took a standard Christmas break ...if it continued into January that's quite a stretch? Last BZ guy to take that much time was SteveLavellie.
 
A few yrs ago WBZ let Leveille and Lovell Dyett go.Caller to Morgan White (unaware?) filling in mentioned it and a listener campaign was launched to get them back.They'd been replaced by Jon Grayson who also was put on sister stations in Mnpls, Pitt. and St Louis.

Leveille returned but retired some yrs back.Dyett got a half hr or something and passed on some time later.

Word that Howie was on Minihane's podcast and that radio.com show might be getting done at Howie's building in Needham...?
