If it were a non-DA, chances would be better for WAIK to return. Even if it were an ND, if might be iffy.

Unless a translator is somehow able to get paired with it, it's likely a return isn't happening

There are bunches of translators available near Galesburg. The FCC search tool suggests 18 channels which could be used in the town center. But presumably there is a reason it was not sold along with its sister stations.

Maybe it was one of those land deals where the seller had an option to sell the tower site. Or a maintenance problem. Or it just wasn't making money.

WAIK doesnt own the land the towers sit on nor do they own the towers
