Worcester Ratings?

I don't follow the Worcester market that much, but I would have guessed that WXLO was doing much better than it appears here.

The few times I have tuned them in, they probably sound better than in the past.

Also noticing that WEEI-FM (Rhode Island) gets more listeners that WVEI-AM in Worcester.

I also thought that WKLB (Country) was one of the top Boston stations in the Worcester market at one time.

But, what do I know... ;-)

I live in the market and listen to The Pike (WWFX). Occasionally (during commercials), Ill jump over to WSRS or WXLO. I can't really listen to XLO's morning show for too long. Jen Carter just seems to be yelling rather than talking and I just find the morning show to be too syrupy. But I like most of their music. Same with WSRS. I'm quite a bit surprised at the deep nosedive for Pike's sister station WORC-FM (Nash Icon/country). Looks like it's been a massive slide since their flip from oldies/classic rock a couple of years ago. I don't listen to country and apparently not too many other people around the market do either. So if Nash Icon 98-9 can't make it here, then WKLB probably won't either.

speaking of worcester ratings, how's hank stoltz doing these days?

He’s on every weekday morning with “Talk of the Commonwealth” from 6-10 on low power Unity Radio 102.9 in Worcester.

The station is what local talk radio used to be, mostly local issues with some national issues but only when they may impact the local area.

There is a Radio Worcester network with their shows on other stations on the weekends including WCRN every Saturday & Sunday from 1-3 p.m.

WGFP in Webster, WCUW in Worcester, and WPKZ in Fitchburg also carry weekend editions.

The problem that I have with WXLO is that they used to be unique! Twenty years ago (I know, different time, different place) while Mix was all Modern AC, WXLO would include those tunes too, but wasn't afraid to play Paula Abdul either. Now they sound like the leftover components of Mix with no real excitement to them at all.

Not to mention that they’re serving Boston more and more with every passing day despite being a Worcester market station, leaving WSRS, WTAG, WORC and WWFX (and some suburban stations like WMRC and WPKZ) as the only stations left in a market of nearly 800,000 people!
