Is this Atlanta Markets first 2019 (sort of) flip?

I know this is the very edge of the market but 100.1 WNSY Talking Rock is now smooth jazz. I never listen to 100.1 but accidentally tuned in when I was trying to get 100.5 in a rented van. I don’t know when this occurred. I assume they using a form of Davis’s Smooth Jazz that is on 101.1 / 1310 in Atlanta. I am not surprised since Davis now has 107.1 a (C1 with a whole lot more people in the 60 dBm)* to take the place of 100.1 (C3) **.

La Raza will have a more “northern” signal than the iHeart’s 105.3 signal: https://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=WBZY&service=FM
but they might be able to siphon off some of the “automatic” Hispanic agency buys that CC/iHeart gets for 1053 La Z

I’ve noticed this too about a couple of weeks ago. WNSY always fights with WPUP in Athens around central Gwinnett. WNSY used to simulcast WLKQ. Wasn’t this station soft AC back in the 90s as Sunny 100?

I remember Sunny 100 as oldies. Same small-market, somebody-else's-favorites oldies format as the old Lake 102 (versus the market-tested Good Times And Eight Oldies of Fox 97). Although Sunny 100 was more "traditional" 60s oldies, while Lake 102 was mostly 1970s AM gold.

IIRC They had good on air talent but the music was weak. They played a lot of tunes that charted but really IMHO should not be in regular rotation. WLJA is doing the same thing now. 100.1 dors not cover enough of the market to be a ratings force. They use to sell Canton for the majority of their revenue.

I meant WPGY AM & WLJA HD 2 using a 93.7 for a translator. WLJA 101.1 is Southern Gospel with some hours of Classic Country.

Once again years or reading copy and making mental corrections and fat fingers strike agsin.
