KHAY-FM's Chris Cox Retiring After 45-Year Run

Cumulus Media is saying goodbye to Chris Cox, Operations Manager and Program Director of Country radio station 100.7 KHAY-FM in Oxnard/Ventura, CA, who will retire from radio after 45 years of entertaining audiences across the U.S. Mr. Cox's successful broadcasting career has included on-air and programming positions for radio stations in Los Angeles, Houston, Cincinnati, Louisville, Anaheim, Palmdale/Lancaster, Evansville, and Southern Illinois. He joined Cumulus in 2012 as Operations Manager and Program Director of 100.7 KHAY-FM.

Sommer Frisk, Regional Vice President, Cumulus Oxnard/Ventura and Stockton/Modesto, CA, praised Cox saying, "Oxnard-Ventura-Santa Barbara has been extremely fortunate to have benefited from Chris's stewardship over the last seven years. What we will miss about Chris is his dedication, hard work, professionalism and relentless commitment to the success of our cluster. What we will miss MOST about Chris is his leadership, character and compassion. We wish him well in his much deserved retirement."

Cox has been known in Los Angeles, Houston, Cincinnati, Louisville, Anaheim, Palmdale/Lancaster, Evansville, and Southern Illinois prior to joining Oxnard/Ventura, CA.

Good luck to Chris Cox, he was THE ONLY DJ at 95.9 KEZY (Anaheim) to actually play a track that I requested by phone - "Round Here" -- Counting Crows. ... PS that 5 1/2 minute track was from the great "August and Everything After" LP ;;;; AND 2nd PS just released in the last day was a brand NEW Counting Crows track entitled "August and Everything After" :>)

Justin Taylor Joins KHAY-FM

Cumulus Media has announced the appointment of Justin Taylor as Operations Manager for its Oxnard/Ventura cluster and Program Director of Country 100.7 KHAY.

Taylor most recently served as Program Director of Classic Hits “Rewind 100.7” KYMV, Music Director of Country “101.5/105.5 The Eagle” KEGA/K288GY, and morning co-host at CHR “Mix 105.1” KUDD Salt Lake City for Broadway Media until his exit in November.

Taylor fills the opening created by Chris Cox’ retirement.
