Ho...Ho...Holiday Book

No one made mention of the Ho..Ho..Hum..Holiday Book. Just posting for no good reason.

Yep, Warm's big massive gigantic win, blah blah blah. That won't change. I see 94.1 and 105.3 both tied down in 10th or 11th. Didn't 105.3 used to be higher during the Christmas season?
January's book should be interesting. Will KSWD continue to dominate the Adult Contemporary scene, or will KRWM slice a couple of their points away? The way KSWD destroyed Warm late last year, they will be around for quite a long time IMO.

Ironically, this period was while both KWRM and KQMV were running on Cougar Mt. after the catastrophic antenna failure on WTM. Being on Cougar didn't seem to harm their numbers. One could argue that running on their backup sites may have actually helped.

You're right. I don't understand why KCMS hasn't gotten the holiday bump in recent years. I want to say the last time I saw them in the top two or so because of Christmas was in 2014.

Perhaps because there are two competitors, playing similar flavors of CCM, on either side of it on the FM dial?

I am beginning to understand this format as how it relates to ratings. It is all about expectations and how that relates to those expectations being met. It really doesn't matter who goes first. It is "expecting" their station to provide this programming. Yes, electronic ratings do matter, but it has more to do with expectations and a fulfillment of those.

The biggest difference would be in downtown Everett, where Cougar signals are terrestrially blocked, but WTM signals cover downtown Everett just fine.

There's only one other station that's giving them serious competition, which yes, is new as of 2015. That does explain the KCMS downturn the rest of the year, but K-Love doesn't go wall-to-wall Christmas until like the week before, so I'd expect a bump for KCMS.

Actually, it's on one side (104.5 and 104.9. KCMS is 105.3) But a very convenient spot for fans of that music with analog tuning radios...
