95.7 the jet 96.5 jack fm

At this point I'm not sure why they would make any changes over at iHeart, except for maybe more at 106.1. Both KJR and KJAQ do well, so I'm not sure why they would make any changes. If that were to happen, it would have a year or so ago.

Do you think jack fm and the jet will continue to both co exist or else

iHeart intended to flip Jack to Country but Hubbard beat them to it. Both stations have good margins, and it would take a very unique opportunity for iHeart to flip Jack to another format.

In about another six months or so, iHeart may realize how badly they screwed up in terminating Bender.

Jack co-exists with co-owned Classic Hits stations in Los Angeles (KCBS-FM and KRTH, both owned by Entercom) and Dallas (KJKK and KLUV, again under Entercom ownership).

Yes, they share some songs. But I think Jack is aimed more at people who had been listening to Album Rock and Alternative Rock stations in their youth. Classic Hits is more for those who listened to Top 40 stations.

Jack has only a sarcastic voice for its image, while Classic Hits stations rely on very foreground DJs, many of whom had previously been popular Top 40 DJs in their markets.

So if programmed correctly, I think an owner can have both types of stations in the same market.
