Interesting. That's the name of Salem Radio's Spanish Christian teach talk format, which has been around for many years.
Does that mean a cease and desist will be forthcoming from Salem to quit using the name?
It's also the name of an AM in the San Juan, PR, market dating back to the 60's. And service/trade marked by the original owner, Lucas Tomás Muñíz.
The flip probably occurred around 7pm Thursday evening, following the end of local programming on 94.1. They were still running Sportstalk at 6pm.
Radio Luz, or at least a programming service with that name, has come and gone for the past 20 years or so on various stations. It was an early format on 105.3 out of Hempstead.

FCC information shows 94.1 as retransmitting an HD subchannel of Sunny 99.1. Which HD subchannel is it does anyone know?

Gow moved the all-sports programming away from 50KW KGOW AM 1560 to a pipsqueak 99 watt FM signal at 94.1 and now that’s been abandoned. Going from radio-blast-Houston to Silent in 2 easy steps.
Radio Luz is on KODA HD-3, which is also where SportsMap originated. KTRH is on KODA HD-2.
The SportsTalk format on 1560 wasn’t drawing flies, so a failure on both AM and FM.
Charlie Pallilo on his Friday show said that they had been getting complaints about poor reception on 97.5 from listeners who had enjoyed a good signal on 94.1. Guess the 97.5 booster isn’t making any difference (and perhaps making things worse) just as some of us predicted on the other thread.
Gow still owns 1560. He could always move sports programming back there.
Perhaps Gow makes more money leasing out 1560.
I can hear the 1560 up here in southern wyoming a few nights a week after dark, sometimes poor. .sometimes somewhat listenable

Thanks for checking in with a little DX info from Wyoming, I assume the timing is just after sunrise or just before sunset. I used to get KTWO Channel 2 in Casper in Ohio on occasion, but the Low VHF DX days are over.

I agree with Mediafrog on 2 counts -- Gow sports failed on 1560 and 94.1 -- so he probably makes more money on leasing both signals. Simulcasting ESPN on 97.5 and 94.1 must not have been feasible, maybe due to increased fees from ESPN. Whatever happened to Gow's SB Nation, it's headquartered here but has no affiliate?

It's still on 97.5, maybe though when more cars move to streaming and SiriusXM that will go or drop coverage too.

Still not sure why ESPN 97.5 would not want to simulcast on 94.1 to better support the downtown and near-west areas (instead of trying that 2KW booster than does not extend the actual listening area). Better yet, move the 94.1 tower to the west, if possible, to help ESPN Radio be heard in Katy.
