Montgomery County LPFMs

I understand that Montgomery County's 5 LPFMs are on the air. The stations are:

92.1 WEMQ-LP Horsham PA
92.9 WEMK-LP Upper Gwynedd PA
105.7 WEMA-LP Marlborough PA
105.7 WEMZ-LP Plymouth PA
106.5 WRDY-LP Eagleville, PA

What are these stations broadcasting format-wise? Are they simulcast full/part time? Do they broadcast anything besides the reported "Travelers Information" format? How strong are the signals? Has WEMQ completely wiped out WVLT reception north of Philly and in Northeast Philly? Thanks.

I haven't heard WEMQ on the air yet... but I haven't checked in a week or two. I'll make a note next time I'm in my car to see (since I actually live close to that tower)

I used to live right down the road from WEMQ's tower as well. WVLT came in great up on the hill in Upper Dublin, so I guess WEMQ would destroy it unless you had a high-gain directional antenna. They probably fight each other by the time you get to Wyndmoor.

WRDY-LP is run by the Montgomery County office of Emergency Management. It runs emergency preparedness spots from FEMA and the AdCouncil interspersed with ones created by the Montco OEM on a 15-20 minute loop. On the station they state that in the event of an actual emergency they will switch to a live broadcast.

Interesting that I see no mention of the stations anywhere on Montco's website. Maybe they're still in soft-launch mode.

Is WEMQ airing someone's iPod shuffle without any legal ID's? If so, and it's testing, government stations aren't exempt from TOH rules right?
