WKNK 103.5 - Alive but not Kickin'

WKNK-FM started broadcast again today, continuing their 17-year streak of a continuous country format, except this time doing away with the "Kickin' Country 103.5" branding and switching back to the Hank FM moniker they used from around 2009-2012.

"Hank" and "Duke" are basically the same format, syndicated by Kroger Media and Envision Radio Networks. Different markets use one or the other name, but the formatics, music, etc. are mostly the same, with some exceptions. "Duke" is an homage to Duke Wright, the CEO of Midwest Family Broadcasters, which initially rolled out the format to several of its stations a few years back. Kroger also syndicates "Bob" which 105.1 is using. It's a turnkey operation; the syndicator supplies music logs, music, imaging, all of it, and they basically log into the station's automation (at their respective transmitter sites) and upload the necessary files. Sounds like someone uploaded a "Duke" branded sweeper where there should have been a "Hank" sweeper.

Very odd. Basically seems like internet radio. Are there any jocks? edit: Just heard a female jock on 95.9 but no mention of anything other than her name and "The Rock". Says to me it ain't local and it ain't trying to be.

The guy who bought em is an attorney. know how to make a small fortune in the radio biz????

... start with a big fortune!
