Thank you for posting; that seems so long ago that WTOG Channel 44 (owned by Hubbard Broadcasting at the time) was a regional independent. Their 10PM newscasts at the time were the only 10PM newscasts in the area and it was a very good newscasts, with many local (real news as opposed to feature stories) news segments, weather and sports.

The Tampa Bay Area was still fortunate enough to have two PBS stations, WUSF (University of South Florida) and WEDY channel 3; Channel 16-WUSF signed off for the final time about 18 months ago, when the repacking of channels started.

It was also when the St. Pete Times (now the Tampa Bay Times) had a great Sunday TV magazine and daily listings as well; not there are no TV listings except the times of the local games in the sports section and if you want a Sunday TV magazine, it’s a nationally produced contracted magazine at an additional cost that is very slim on the local listings, only listing some of the local stations. :(

You're welcome! One of the things I liked the most about this schedule is that the independent stations had pretty good programming at the time.
