Nexstar inks major deal with Tegna and Scripps

Most notably left out is Cox/Apollo. The stations below are being spun off as a result of the upcoming merger with Tribune.

Tegna gains:

WTIC/WCCT — FOX/CW affiliates in Hartford-New Haven, CT
WPMT — the FOX affiliate in Harrisburg-Lancaster-Lebanon-York, PA
WATN/WLMT — ABC/CW affiliates in Memphis, TN
WNEP — the ABC affiliate in Wilkes Barre-Scranton, PA
WOI/KCWI — ABC/CW affiliates in Des Moines-Ames, IA
WZDX — the FOX affiliate in Huntsville-Decatur-Florence, AL
WQAD — the ABC affiliate in the Quad Cities of Davenport, IA and Rock Island-Moline, IL
KFSM — the CBS affiliate in Ft. Smith-Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers, AR

Scripps gets:

WPIX — the Tribune flagship CW affiliate in New York
KASW — the CW affiliate in Phoenix, creating a duopoly with ABC affiliate KNXV-15 and pitting Scripps against Meredith Corp.’s CBS KPHO-5 and news-focused unaffiliated KTVK-3
WSFL — the CW affiliate in Miami–Fort Lauderdale many expect to take on FOX affiliation as an ongoing spat between that network and Ed Ansin-owned WSVN-7 in Miami ignited rumors that FOX could buy WSFL. FOX ruled out adding O&Os last week. This makes WSFL Scripps’ second station in South Florida, as the company operates heritage NBC affiliate WPTV-5 in West Palm Beach
KSTU, the FOX affiliate in Salt Lake City
WTKR, the CBS affiliate, and WGNT, the CW affiliate, in Norfolk
WTVR, the CBS affiliate in Richmond
WXMI, the Fox affiliate in Grand Rapids
 
does this mean Nexstar will turn KDAF in Dallas into the flagship station due to them being based in Irving, a Dallas suburb.
 
WPIX...Scripps? Am I hallucinating? Guess they will be seeing 'The List' on WPIX soon, and Pickler & Ben (which already airs on one of WABC's subchannels, but doesn't Scripps mandate that show be aired?)

Sounds like P&B is being cancelled.
But, the addition of a New York station for Scripps comes too late for its signature daytime talk show Pickler & Ben. As reported by RBR+TVBR, Scripps President/CEO Adam Symson noted during the company’s Q4 2018 earnings call that the show is being “sunset” at the end of the year — namely due to clearance issues in the top markets.

With Tenga getting FOX 61 and CW 20 in Hartford, I'm hoping they will get rid of the brain-dead TBD network on Channel 61.3 and Stadium on 20.4. Also with Nexstar Purchasing Tribune, does that mean they get ownership of digi-nets Antenna TV and This-TV? If so does that mean Antenna-TV and This-TV will move over to Nexstar's WTNH/WCTX? WCTX channel shares with WTNH.

Tegna has deals with Justice and Quest

Possibly but Nexstar could spin off KDAF to their partner affiliate Mission Broadcasting which could prevent them having a flagship status (if that's how it works).
 
WXMI Fox17 will be airing The List this fall return of Right This Minute since that is a Scripps show although don't know how long the contract Nexstar has with RTM which WXSP airs RTM at 10:30AM no weekend run thou. I could see Scripps & Nexstar doing flipping of Sub-channels as Nexstar owns all the Scripps Diginets as Nexstar will be taking over Antenna TV & This TV from Tribune.
 
I happened to think this will make it where every major network station in Memphis has changed or is changing owners:
WREG CBS 3 to Nextstar
WMC NBC 5 to Gray
WHBQ Fox 13 to Cox
WATN ABC 24 and WLMT CW 30 to Tegna

Is this happening anywhere else?

Also could this cause some changes to what subchannels are carried by each station?
 
Atlanta has had all four networks move from one channel to another. In 1980, ABC moved to WSB/2 from WXIA/11, with NBC to 11 from 2. Then in 1994, Fox went from 36 to 5, CBS from 5 to 46, with 36 reverting to independent (which 46 was previously).

I need to correct one thing: WHBQ had been owned by Cox in recent years and is being sold to Apollo.
