Brook Stanford (KOMO-TV) dead at 78

The long-time reporter and 'People Helper' passed away Thursday at the age of 78. He helped raise over $9,000,000 over 17 years to connect local people who were in need of help, and retired from the station about 17 years ago. Brook started working at KOMO in 1970.

I can't believe he was only 78.

He was one of the cuts during the 9/11 recession - when anchors Gary Lindsay and Eric Slocum also exited.

In the 1990s, I always felt like he was very old; but he was only in his 50s.

RIP Brook. A reminder of how tv news has changed. Local consumer help segments are rare today but common in the 20th century. Blame corporate ownership.

But back to Brook... very good personality and former reporter.
