Antenna Connected to New WRCR Tower -- The new tower is up with a new antenna and it’s ready to be tuned for transmission. Stay tuned!

I believe it was REO Speedwagon who said you can tune an antenna but you can't tuna fish :)

What is the WRCR programming expected to be, pls? In the summer, on the 'terrace' with coffee and grapes and drinks, we've heard them a few times. That was off a little $59 Radio Shack travel radio that I got for $25 when RS was closing down. It's not a bad little rig, though nothing like a similar-looking Grundig G-5. WRCR must have had quite the nighttime signal from their original site.

Looking forward to hearing any music they play at night. They must be one out of maybe 5 US stations on AM to've done that in the evening .... Culture Club, Phil Collins, etc.

It's not a new tower. They're using a makeshift longwire antenna added to an existing tower. Here's the FCC application (sorry for the all-caps -- that's how the FCC posts it):

WRCR LOST ITS LEASE FOR THE LICENSED SITE IN 2017 AND HAS BEEN SILENT EXCEPT FOR OPERATING UNDER STA AT A TEMPORARY LOCATION AVAILABLE FOR A BRIEF PERIOD.

THE APPLICANT PROPOSES HEREIN STA OPERATION AT AN EXISTING SITE WITH A WIRE ANTENNA. OPERATION HERE WILL ALLOW GATHERING MEASUREMENT DATA TO BE USED IN FILING AN APPLICATION FOR CONSTRUCTION PERMIT TO MODIFY THE TEMPORARY TRANSMISSION FACILITIES IN A MANNER THAT CAN ULTIMATELY BE LICENSED BY THE AUDIO DIVISION WITH FULL DAY AND NIGHT POWER.

TEMPORARY OPERATION AT 2.5 KW DAY AND 0.25 KW NIGHT WITH A TEMPORARY WIRE ANTENNA IS PROPOSED. A MAP IS ATTACHED DEPICTING THE DAY STA AND LICENSED 0.5 MV/M CONTOURS. THE STA CONTOUR LIES ENTIRELY WITHIN THE LICENSED CONTOUR.

A TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION OF THE WIRE ANTENNA IS ALSO ATTACHED INCLUDING VERTICAL PLAN SKETCH. THE RMS EFFECIENCY OF 300 MV PER METER AT ONE KILOMETER IS BASED ON THE NEC-4 ANALYSIS WITH PERFECT EARTH.

It sounds temporary. Is the station just going back on the air for a short time so it can reset the 12 month clock? The FCC can make you return your license if your station hasn't been on the air for a year or more. Some troubled stations manage to get on the air for a short time, to reset the clock.

Definitely temporary. Sounds like the owner is trying to buy time to come up with a business plan. It does not sound promising.

I clicked on the link to check out what WRCR is doing and i happened to notice that the "weather" on the website is for Palm Beach Gardens, FL! Anyone else seeing that? (I'm not in FL, BTW)

It comes up Rockland for me. On the right hand side there is an Accuweather widget that should show your city. Maybe you looked up Palm Beach on Accuweather at some point?
