Doug Cope has retired WBZ-A

Carl Stevens, the station's in-house poet, gave an ode to Mr. Cope on Friday as he retired from the station after 16 years. He mianly did the WBZ Cares series.

It seems that we missed Doug Cope retiring from WBZ-A last week.

May he have a long end enjoyable retirement !

Amen to that!

I hadn't heard him in well over a week. But the last time he was on, he and Art Cohen were covering the midday shift, usually with Tina Gao, for Nicole Davis.

I'll miss him. As will a fairly large number of other listeners, I'm sure.

Still - why no coverage in the Globe or Herald? AM radio and newspapers are both "in critical condition", are they not?
