102.9 HD2 at work

So I started a new job baking pretzels at a philly pretzel factory in my town. In order to make work more fun I brought in my small insignia HD radio and put on WMGK-H2. Almost instantaneously my co-workers started singing along and work went by so much faster.

I gotta say, the WMGK HD2 library is so vast and fun, and just having the music on makes us happier. I just want to thank whoever programs the HD2.

WISX HD 2, smooth jazz, is also a big favorite of mine to put on.

No, that's the best part. Commercial free music at work is perfect.

Imagine what FM radio would be if it was all paid for by listeners instead of by advertising.

Right now most of HD radio is paid for by the advertising on the main channels.

At one time, FM radio had very little advertising, because it had small audiences, and it was supported by the ads on AM.

It would be satellite radio, but without the channel quantity. It would be WXPN, WHYY-FM or WRTI. It would be targeted to a narrower enthusiastic (paying) audience. It would not have to merely aim at lowest-common-denominator listeners as commercial radio does.
