This station could serve the San Francisco bay area just fine on 5KW.

It's kind of confusing to read the STA, but I believe that's exactly what they're doing. Or maybe 12.5 KW:

The nighttime site hasn't been active for quite a few years AFAIK. I never actually tried to listen to them until they started carrying A's baseball, but up in the foothills I hear them day (fairly strong) and night (quite weak). Something else fades in sometimes at night. Probably CJBC.

Wiki says they are using 5KW at night ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/860_AM ) and 50KW during the day. With that said, this is the direct Wiki page for KTRB ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KTRB) , and it says 50KW / 50KW for both day and night. Yes, confusing.

Up there in Nevada city, you are on right on the edge of their daytime signal, and at night, right on the fringe. The station underneath, for me anyways, is KPAM, out of Troutdale, Oregon.

In St. Louis, daytime is HD hash from KFUO. Night time, CJBC is solid.

Central KS:
Daytime: Decent signal from KKOW/Pittsburg
Nighttime: Never tried to listen to the frequency at night here yet, but probably CJBC

IME (albeit relatively small sample size), in your part of the world, it's KKOW (ex-KOAM) at night.
