Q99.7 leaning more rhythmic

Thought I’d mention this on here since I haven’t seen it yet.

Has anyone noticed that Q99.7 has been leaning more rhythmic these past few months? They’ve also been digging deeper into the golds lately during the middays. Thoughts?

I just checked Mediabase 24/7/ Definitely more gold from the 2000s and early 2010s. Among very big hip-hop and R&B songs they've added in recent week: "No Scrubs," "My Boo," "California Love," "I'll Be Missing You," "Mo Money Mo Problems," "Try Again," "Jumpin Jumpin," "Independent Woman," "Hot in Herre," "Dilemma," "1,2 Step." Clearly based on the gold adds, they are going more rhythmic. And even some gold they had previously played like "(Only) Girl in the World," "The Monster," "We Found Love," "Uptown Funk," "Titanium" "Yeah!" "Crazy in Love," "Whatcha Say" and "Toxic" are now being spun more than once a day as opposed to once every other day. As a result, recurrents from the 2017 era have been cut back significantly. A lot less "New Rules," "Girl Like You" and "Beautiful" (Bazzi version)

Hmmmm? Do they mention or direct listeners OG 97.9 at all? Listening to 97.9 they have promos directing listeners to 99.7 for today’s hit music.

Star 102.1 Knoxville is doing the same. They have been playing rhythmic gold a lot more lately. They are sister station to Rhytmic Top 40 Hot 104.5. Maybe it's something Top 40's are doing too?

I was reading an article by radio and music expert Sean Ross about how there is a serious lack of good new uptempo material in Mainstream CHR, and PD's are looking for ways to fill this void.
