Syndicated casualties are starting to line up ...

To me America Says is really just a Family Feud ripoff, and their top prize is only $15,000, which needs to be raised.

I know with Feud, the max is $20,000 so far...but then again, let's see how long this ripoff lasts in syndication (I won't watch it)

The Doctors is a show that has 9 lives and has been on life support for a few years now.

three words when it comes to "The Doctors" - "The Oprah Effect"...every show that she's launched has been a hit - "....Oz...", "Dr. Phil..."

This is interesting food for thought. I don't think there's some institutional issue with "nice." Kelly & Ryan, Rachel Ray, Ellen...off the top of my head, those all seem to fall within the nice camp. Open it up to cable and you've got "Home and Family" as well in that vein. Not sure about Steve Harvey's current show--haven't seen a moment of it.

Kelly & Ryan, Rachael Ray - yes for sure on the "nice" factor, Ellen - she caters to a certain demographic - and i'm not in that demographic; as for Steve Harvey - I don't consider his current daytime show "nice" - he's edgy; and his "Family Feud" is super-risque and definitely NOT in my demo! (and, at the risk of starting another "war" on this board, supposedly Harvey is a Christian - and he speaks VERY well on subjects of prayer and faith and God)

In this precise format, it's a copy of "100 mejicanos dijeron" (100 Mexicans said) which has been on TV in Mexico since 2001. It, in turn, was a variant copy of Family Feud.

Feud for sure is...well, dirty, I guess. I don’t mind adult humor—Match Game is a favorite. And more power to the show for taking what was floating around in virtual obscurity for years under three hosts and making a hit out of it. It just seems pointlessly dirty with the same jokes every single day. To that end, I’d take Let’s Ask America as a variation without the repetitive innuendo.

I guess with the Steve talk show going away , the edginess will be replaced with ample niceness in the form of Kelly Clarkson. I’m not guessing it will be boundary pushing.

A lot of times on Family Feud the questions aren't always risque as much as the answers, sometimes from the contestants, and other times in the surveys. And in the current version the writers tend to make the posted answers racier.

and yet, Dawson would roll over in his grave if he heard some of the questions (and answers) given on Harvey's "Feud".....

1) today's Feud is VERY dirty - and I do MIND adult humor!
2) I will not watch today's "Match Game" (see my point #1 - besides which, i'm not the demographic that the show - or Alec Baldwin - is going after - UGH!)
3) "Let's Ask America" sounds like a GSN kinda copy of "Feud" - I don't have GSN, but then, I'm not holding my breath on this one
4) Kelly Clarkson promos have been fairly clean so far - gonna be interesting to see what direction she takes her show (and please, no boundary-pushing - daytime already had that with the soon-to-be-ending "RuPaul" tryout - double UGH!)

Technically, it's $100,000 because the show has returning champions with a five-day limit, although the Fast Money round has become noticeably harder to win than it used to be, and the consolation prize if that round is lost - $5 for every point if <200 - has not changed since the show began with Richard Dawson in 1976.

And a family that wins 5 games also wins a car that is probably in the $25,000+ range.

If America Says doesn't do well on syndie it will remain on GSN. I pretty much believe that America Says will be on CW7 or WXSP. I see Steve is now in repeats I was surprised to see it still had new EP's as of last week I thought it would've ended sooner in early or mid-June.
