Anyone know what's next for KYND 1520?

Does anyone have any idea what's next for KYND 1520, since our friend b-turner left the station?

Let's review the facts. They've been unleased for 22 months now, at times not operating the transmitter, at times transmitting silence and sometimes soliciting for a lessor. There's apparently not a client who can agree to terms with ownership, and ownership has no interest in programming the station themselves.

So there are options.
1. Change the business model. The most likely thing seems like block programming to several programmers.

2. Sell.

3. Turn in the license or let it expire at renewal time. I cant imagine the FCC granting renewal to a broadcaster who had not aired programming in 4 years, by the time the license comes up in 2021.

4. Keep hoping for that magical phone call

Was told by broker when looking at this property, asking price is tooooooo high!!!!!!! Over 1 mil. Was 2 mil when I originally asked. No equipment, office. Just computer playing the loop o Bill over and over and over. (At least I guess so, Haven't listened lately.) Son wants to sell to get rid of it. Daughter wants to sell, but as already said, wants too much. Will LMA or broker but asking way over my head for per month.

3.) As long as they generally modulate the carrier, they can run whatever they want... they can run nothing but soliciting for time buyers/program producers for 4 years and still get their license renewed

“Daughter” must be filthy rich as she has had no problem setting money on fire for the past two years. “Son” seems to have the right idea in wanting to dump the place. It’s worth what someone will pay for it, but that amount is likely far below delusional hopes.

I imagine a Spanish language religious programmer will be happy to take KYND off their hands at a fire sale price.

Even when the audio-loop is running, the signal reception is lousy, as if they're running a 25K station with 500 watts. That Bill Turner loop has run so many times, he should demand royalties since he's near Dallas now. How's it going, Bill - getting a paycheck now has to be a big improvement.

It is sweet getting a paycheck now. Just wish I'd left when they cut my paycheck and I had to pull a few dollars from savings each month. That was back with China Radio quit. I'd have plenty of money in the bank. Maybe I should offer to field calls for a percentage commission if I can get somebody on at KYND. I stuck around because I got to KYND in July 1993 when they went to 3,000 watts. The station had very little billing when I got there. I felt like it was my baby and just didn't want to give up on it.

I'm loving my new station. Great boss, great staff, great station and excellent product to sell. I'm trying to find $10,000 in new business. 15% there after 2 months and I think about 82% of that new business has been found. I'm having great fun meeting so many folks daily and working for their continued success.

I often wish I owned a station and could hire Bill. He's one of the few people ive come across who i thinks understands sales and programming and on air and could do any of them.. and get everyone in those departments to place nicely. and from my conversations with Bill, he knows who management and co workers should treat employees and other co workers.
