KROQ Japanese song question

Hi all. I am new on this site and I hope this is an appropriate place to ask this question.

Sometime in the early 1990s, KROQ played a song in rotation that was all in Japanese (I believe Japanese was the language).
(If my memory serves me, it was around the same time that they were playing Right Said Fred, "I'm Too Sexy.")

Does anyone recall the name of the song and who performed it?

(and if anyone can remember the name of a restaurant near Santa Anita that Trevor Denman did a TV spot on Channel 56, that would be most appreciated!)

Hopefully it was The Derby. Great food, lots of great horse racing history for deco, and even though I am middle aged, I feel very good going there because I am usually the youngest person in the room!

The Derby is great. Its an institution. But not the place I'm trying to remember.
In the day, I could recite the Trevor Denman TV spot on channel 56 verbatim. Not I can't even recall the name of the place!
