Jason Pullman moves to WUSN-FM

This is a station that expects its air talent to be accessible. I know that Drew does regular remotes all over town. They all had a big presence at the Lake Shake a few weeks ago. I remember seeing Lisa Dent broadcasting from a show in Grant Park back when she was doing mornings. So Jason should get ready to work some long hours. He won't be getting a studio tan.

Must not be good available talent since they had to look outside of Chicago for a replacement show.

And that’s a bad thing, how? Manload was from KC and San Fran before he landed in the 312. Dahl was from Cali and the D before he came on over. Bill Curtis came from Topeka before anchoring at Channel 2.

Talent can come from anywhere. If the product is lacking in your backyard, look elsewhere. Pullman got the job fair and square.

You will find as you learn more about radio that most major market talent comes up through the minors, just like baseball.

Oh, and speaking about that, how many Cubs players are Chicago natives?

It it is a lot to move to Chicago and really be a successful, I mean sure that there have been ones that have success but not everybody, WFGN Radio earlier this decade had Mike McConnell on their radio station that was hired from WLW, and he never really caught on with a lot of listeners, and to this day he is back where he started from when he came to Chicago. It is hard to say if people will like his show or if he can have the same success coming form another area like Wally Philips did, like Steve Dahl did, and like Bill Kurtis did.

That is a good question, but I don't think any of the current Cubs players are from Chicago, but then again I don't have their entire roster in front of me. I know that they had just picked up a player from San Francisco. But I wonder if I should even ask what is your point?
