Ratings for Sirius/XM?

Thought someone here might have the "inside" scoop. ;-)

Jim Meyer guards this info with his life. If anyone knew the truth, the stock would crater. Jim hates OTA radio so much, he wins by controlling the message. The only number he wants anyone to know is total subscribers. It's like OTA radio using nothing else but the 92% figure.

And yet! The SXM PR department happily puts out a press release to the entire staff that (Diamond) Jim Meyer received an $8M (100%) raise! Talk about sending the wrong message... Clueless.

Every time the company brags about revenues or anything like that, the recording industry puts out a press release that all of the money comes from playing their music. Which inevitably leads to a royalty increase at the next hearing. They are also very unhappy that Sirius now owns Pandora. Even after making a $2 billion purchase, the stock price hasn't improved and the value of the company hasn't increased.

Another SiriusXM multimillionaire exec is ex-movie industry guy "Hollywood" Scott Greenstein, the mastermind behind the pimped-out single-artist channels and other bought-and-paid-for content passed off as entertainment.

There is an aroma of sleaze around the whole company, if you ask me, dating back to the wool they pulled over the FCC's eyes by submitting underpowered FM modulators for type approval then turning around and selling units that could be heard across stadium parking lots. We owners of such units got the laughable "remedy" in the mail -- a replacement antenna connector wire (not sure how to describe the gizmo more accurately, sorry) with beads on it that drastically attenuated the signal. Of course, we owners laughed and threw them out, as the company expected us to. I still have my overpowered unit.

So what next in this high stakes corporate brinkmanship that SXM and its crack legal team continue to pursue? Do you think the house of cards could collapse or is SXM/Pandora here to stay, having found a way to just remain kosher?

They just have to keep John Malone happy. He's the sugar daddy with the deep pockets who makes the wheels turn. The minute he gets bored, they will get sold. That's been his pattern.

Aren't Malone and Joe Biden the same age?

It's interesting to contemplate how very contemporary business and political leaders are of an age that is a decade older than the life expectancy of Americans just 50 years ago!

Yet both are aggressively pushing their careers.

(And totally in conflict with both media and marketing organizations that focus on 18-49 or 25-54!
