She does 25 years in TV, most of it major market.
She gets shown the door at her last TV station when her contract was not renewed.
OK it happens, but you have a name in the market, but can't capitalize on it.... Many WFXT cast aways went on to much better things IMHO, her career tanked.
WFXT cuts her loose, she sits on the beach for close to 2 years before ending up being a sidekick on a paid time program, that lasts less than 2 years and WRKO grabs her for AM drive.
That venture had a real rocky start, she stayed, various co-hosts and news readers came and went until Doug Goudie was picked up on waivers from WFXT. That lasts just over 3 years, not a bad run, but your options in the market are now pretty limited.
How many people in this situation have gone on to better things, either into corporate media relations or to Regan or another agency of that type? Quite a few.
Some just walked away into other ventures... Kerry Connolly's "Row and Ride" fitness studio comes to mind.
Some have ended up at Total Traffic hoping to get on/to WBZ AM ... Nancy Shack Morrison comes to mind.
But Ms Carrigan has ended up on WRCA-AM, and it's 106.1 translator along with WBOS HD-2, and WNBP AM and their 106,1 translator, which I suspect have the combined ratings to rival WEEI AM.
(I don't know what Bloomberg is paying Beasley for the use of WRCA AM, WBOS HD-2, and 106.1 W291CZ, but it must be substantial for Beasley not to be trying to monetize it themselves. )
But my point is that after 25 years in the market, 18 of them on TV, and you are at the stations I mentioned above, chances are this is the end of the road for your career in broadcasting. She might as well be on WUNR.
Just my opinion, I know several of you may have an issue with it, not a problem. What do I know I am not a media professional.
