Just yesterday I wrote about WKKT HD3 well there is more! Changes are also a foot at Beasley's WKQC HD2 which had been a Pop '70s formatted channel with a few '60's tunes thrown in for spice. The liners and positioning stayed the same for years. It was quite a shock to hear new liners and positioning yesterday calling the channel Classic KQC. The liners are more localized with mentions of "The Queen City". While not a format change there has been what I would call a format shift toward more of a Rock sound rather than pop and leaning toward the '80s rather than the '60's.
The new liners sound great, the refresh was long overdue. The voice sounds like market veteran Jack Daniel. The new shift in music, I'm not sure. There's just so much of Stevie Nicks I can take. Listening on my way home from work yesterday and around town today I've already had my quota of Stevie Nicks for the month! Your mileage may vary.
