93.7 Georgetown now hot AC

This station is still playing musical chairs. It started off as Adult CHR, then HOT AC, then AC, and now it sounding like CHR. What is going on right now?

Seriously? The only AC in the market is in WGNI in Wilmington.

WEZV is not even attempting to go after former listeners of The Tide. Nothing I've heard since The Tide changed indicates any change from soft AC. Most of the songs are soft, except for the ones that are loud.

93.7 serves Georgetown. Not Myrtle Beach as you can't pick up the little station in Murrells Inlet/Surfside. Plus Mix 97.7 Energy 92.1 plus 95 SX out of Charleston all serve Georgetown well.

Well 93.7 is no longer Adult CHR, it's now a rock station as 93.7 the Shark. Another format we don't need.
But Myrtle Beach doesn't have a Hot AC, adult CHR or even a mainstream AC. WEZV is committed to being "Easy" except when they aren't, and occasional exceptions such as "Heart of Glass", "Straight Up" and "Come to My Window" won't get the job done.

I guess those formats are a few that won't work in Myrtle Beach. Also they're positioned as "The Pee Dee's Modern Rock Station." That's in Florence.

Yeah, a couple of things are wrong with that. I tried it and it's exactly what Myrtle Beach needs. Rock 107 leans too much toward classics and "wimpy" rock, while this station is "loud and local". Florence had a station like this and it didn't even hardly register in the 12-plus numbers. But unless another Florence area station is simulcasting, it's hardly the Pee Dee. And of course people in Myrtle Beach can't even pick it up.

Also, stations that try to be as loud as possible are "active rock", not "modern rock". Now everything so far seems to be what was called "alternative" back before The Lumineers, Mumford and Sons and Lorde took over that format. There was a Shark that played modern rock in Myrtle Beach back in the 90s but it sounded more like a classic version of what WKZQ is doing these days.

And WXJY is playing country music now. At least that's what I get with the online version.

Station ID: "Coast Country 93.7 and 107.5."

Both stations are a waste. Country people are going to go up the dial to 107.9 or down to 106.5 or even 92.9. Rock people are going to 104.1 96.1 and 107.1

93.7 The Shark was unique. One would have to go back and forth between 96.1 and 107.1 to hear everything, and even then, listening to either station might give a person a bunch of songs they don't want.
