They preempted that for this?

The Titans are playing against New England tomorrow night and the game will be on their syndicated network again. WJKT Fox 16 in Jackson, TN will delay Fox programming until after the game again.

WKRN 2 in Nashville is airing the game as well, delaying the Saturday edition of Wheel of Fortune to Sunday afternoon at 3:30 PM (provided Little League World Series Game 16 doesn't run long), and pre-empting a rebroadcast of ABC's live The Jeffersons/All in the Family special plus a repeat of Jimmy Kimmel Live!

When NBC aired Thursday Night Football, WPBN would air Wheel as scheduled, but bump Jeopardy! (possibly airing in the Saturday repeat slot)

WCNC Charlotte did that, but vice-versa. Jeopardy! would air as normal, and Thursday's Wheel would air Friday night, and Friday's episode would air Saturday night, with the Saturday repeat airing much later that night around 2:00 AM.

WBRE Wilkes-Barre would bump Jeopardy! and not make it up at all, and even made a 30-second promo to air during Wheel advising viewers that the show would return tomorrow.

Wait is jimmy kimmell live seperate from the tonight show because i thought the late night shows were all prerecorded.

I don't know about the current talk shows. I believe they are recorded. The three times I saw Late Show With David Letterman in person (1995, 1997 and 1999), they taped around 5:30 PM Eastern, shooting the show in real time, or as close as possible. I had a ticket for Conan O'Brien's NBC show once (but couldn't go). It was also taped around that time.

The show is not live. "Jimmy Kimmel Live" is only the name of the program. It's known as "branding."

yeah, but in 2003, when JKL debuted, the show was live everynight in the markets that aired it on time (WFAA in Dallas opted to air it at 11:35 PM instead of 11:05 PM as they wanted to air Entertainment Tonight, as they always had the rights to ET at the time, i think Wheel of Fortune was still on WFAA in 2003 thus ET still aired after Nightline back then). but then stopped doing it Live after Thomas Jane decided to say the F word on live TV and the guy in charge of the dump button missed it (i assumed this was when he was promoting "The Punisher" which was in the Spring of that year and in the middle of the FCC's crackdown on indecent content on broadcast TV and Radio.) and sonce then, JKl only goes live on special occasions.

WABC New York also bumped Weekend Wheel to Sunday afternoon at 4:30 after Little League to show a behind-the-scenes special on the Jeffersons/AITF live show on Saturday at 7:30 prior to its rebroadcast.

Wheel of Fortune was pre-empted on seven affiliates last Friday by NFL. Jeopardy! was also pre-empted on all but WFTV Orlando since the Dolphins/Buccaneers game didn't conflict with it. The other six affiliates all aired the Bills/Panthers game which started at 7:00 Eastern.

  • Orlando, FL - WFTV/ABC (Wheel bumped to 10:30 PM after the game, presumably joined in progress or pre-empted if there was overrun)
  • Elmira, NY - WETM/NBC (Like the week before, no room to bump WOF/J! to 18.2 because they aired the NYC market's game there)
  • Rochester, NY - WROC/CBS (Both shows delayed to 5:30 and 6:00 AM Saturday morning)
  • Greensboro, NC - WFMY/CBS (Bumped to 1:37 and 2:07 AM)
  • Raleigh/Durham, NC - WTVD/ABC (Bumped to Live Well Network sub; listings still had The Balancing Act/Food Rush)
  • Washington, NC - WITN/NBC (Bumped to MyTV sub; listings still had Last Man Standing)
  • Norfolk, VA - WVEC/ABC (Episodes delayed to Saturday evening, bumping the usual Saturday reruns to Sunday evening at 5:00 and 5:30 PM)

This is also the time of year where many affiliates begin airing local "high school football preview" specials in prime access. Last Friday, ABC affiliate WLOS in Asheville, NC pre-empted Wheel and Jeopardy! with one, bumping them to 1:07 and 1:37 AM.

On Sunday WBBJ ABC 7 in Jackson, TN pre-empted a Little League World Series game and prime time programming on ABC for a telethon for the Carl Perkins Canter to Prevent Child Abuse from 1 PM to 10 PM on 7.1. While I know it was for a good cause I don't know why it had to run for so long. Regular peogramming for CBS stayed on 7.3.

Why they airing the little league games on abc for if its not the final game. Thats is a waste of network television stick that stuff on espn classic or espn2 executives.
