It is. The new seasons start September 9. Although Wheel is not fond of acknowledging when they're in reruns or when their seasons end, unlike Jeopardy!, and of course reruns still count for the shows' ratings. Sometimes, Wheel will even modify reruns to match current episodes aesthetically. A recent rerun of an April 2018 episode added in a segment following up with a January 2019 contestant. It felt weird to see that on such an old episode by comparison.

It's also worth noting that the week currently re-airing on Wheel is the season finale week, which originally aired June 3-7. The June 3 and 6 episodes were originally pre-empted on KSDK St. Louis and all West Coast NBC affiliates by the Stanley Cup, and the June 5 and 7 shows on all West Coast ABC's by the NBA Finals. This included Wheel's Season 36 finale, which some stations like KABC Los Angeles did not air at all. I also had an interaction with the Ruth, the red contestant from the June 5 episode. She lives in LA and KABC did not air her episode (despite airing Jeopardy! after the game), although she was able to watch its rerun last Wednesday.

Fortunately, none of these episodes this week are getting pre-empted a second time; no West NBC's with Wheel aired any NFL last night, nor any West ABC's tonight. To be fair, it was a sucky week to cap off a sucky season, with barely any Bonus Round wins in the final two months. For the past two seasons now, the season finale weeks had no Bonus Round wins.
 
CBS' NFL game overran by about 17 minutes. For Mountain and Pacific affiliates, this mostly affected primetime make-goods of syndies. KKTV in Colorado Springs and KGWN in Cheyenne joined Wheel of Fortune in progress during the fourth round, while KDBC El Paso and all five Montana CBS affiliates (which I believe all share the same syndies) joined Jeopardy! in progress well into Double Jeopardy!

And in the latest instance of affiliates saying FU to Wheel fans, KRQE Albuquerque opted to pre-empt two-thirds of Wheel's primetime post-game time slot so that they could air Jeopardy! from the beginning instead of joining it in progress like other stations. By the time Jeopardy! finished, only the last 10 minutes of Wheel were aired to fill the rest of the slot and play catch-up.

If I were in charge at KRQE, I would have accommodated both shows by joining J! in progress at ~9:20, airing Wheel in full at 9:30, and then re-airing the J! episode in full on KRQE-DT2/FOX at 10:00, which is normally the slot for J!'s secondary feed of year-old repeats, and giving advance notice of this make-good by running a crawl during the partial J! airing and Wheel.

I understand your anger, but no one in station management cares if anyone watches the infomercial. The time is paid for, and the station is making more money in this time slot for which CBS is not providing programming than it could ever hope to make by plugging in something from its movie library (if it even has one anymore) or, certainly, producing original programming. Advertisers aren't going to decide that WREG isn't good value for their money because it gets a 0.1 for three hours of paid programming on a weekend afternoon when most people are either watching sports programming or not watching TV at all, believe me.
 
I actually don't get the weirdly obsessive anger. A weekend afternoon is a dead zone on most stations most weeks. It's a business, and you look at the cost/benefit analysis.
 
well, we are just a few days away from a landfalling major hurricane hitting Florida, as Hurricane Dorian has Florida in it's path in the latest cone of uncertainty, which means some wall to wall hurricane will preempt some regularly schedule programing in the areas in Dorian's path.
 
WLKY in Louisville, KY (CBS) is pre-empting Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! tonight with an hour-long infomercial on Type 1 diabetes. Both shows are bumped to their .2 MeTV sub in place of M*A*S*H.
 
KTVT CBS 11 will air the final preseason Cowboys game against the Buccaneers at AT&T Stadium in Arlington tonight, which means CBS program will once again air on KTXA Texas 21. and CBS 11 News at 5 and 6 will be preempted for the Deep Blue special produced by the Cowboys and the pregrame show.

Big Brother fans in the DFW market are voicing their anger on Twitter right now. KTXA is airing an infomercial instead.
 
WSOC-TV bumped both episodes of "Reef Break" to late night. After the Panthers game they could have joined in progress but I'm grateful they didn't. I recorded the show with an antenna but haven't watched yet, but I'll have to depend on WSOC-TV to get the other episode right, since I didn't know about that one in time. I added the next show after and even the show before, just in case.

I should record all my ABC shows from WXLV. They never pre-empt anything.

WCBS aired the Eagles/Jets game last night from 7-10, once again bumping BBT, Young Sheldon, and Big Brother to sister WLNY, and FBI was listed on both stations, presumably with WCBS joining it in progress if the game overran but WLNY allowing fans to watch it in full, should that have happened.

WNBC aired the Giants/Patriots game from 7:30-10:30, moving Access to 7:00 and replacing Extra, and pre-empting The Wall and Hollywood Game Night, and joining SVU in progress at the halfway mark at the earliest. None of the three shows re-aired overnight or elsewhere.

Neighboring affiliates WFSB and WVIT did not pre-empt anything.
 
WLS Chicago (ABC O&O) aired the Cubs/Mets game last night from 6-9 PM Central, pre-empting local news, Wheel of Fortune (repeat), Holey Moley (repeat), and one of two new episodes of Reef Break. Holey Moley aired at 12:07 AM (replacing a rebroadcast of local show Windy City Live), Reef Break at 1:07 (replacing a news repeat and Millionaire), and Wheel at 2:07 (replacing RightThisMinute). The game also re-aired on their .2 Live Well Network sub from 11 PM-2 AM.


WTOV in Steubenville, Ohio (NBC) aired a live high school football game from 7:00-9:30 PM Eastern, pre-empting Jeopardy!, Wheel, The Wall, and half of Hollywood Game Night. Jeopardy! aired at 2:07 AM, Wheel at 2:30 (both replacing a rebroadcast of Today with Hoda & Jenna), and The Wall at 3:00 (replacing Just for Laughs Gags and half an hour of Early Today).
