Jake Whittenberg & Mimi Jung will move from KONG 7-9am and co-anchor on KING from 4:30-7a. Take 5 host Michelle Li and current 4:30-7a anchor Steve Bunin will co-anchor the 7-9am portion on KONG. Changes start August 26th.

Well, I think their only hope is that Apollo buys Tegna. Then, Apollo has to divest KING or KIRO, either of which could go to Hearst, Scripps, Hubbard, or Meredith. Any scenario is better than staying with Tegna.

Whittenberg / Jung is a great pairing. They'll do well as the new lead team for KING5 mornings.

I don't like Michelle Li's style at all and I don't know that there is anything special about Bunin. We'll see how that goes.

It sounds like TEGNA management actually made a good decision! I guess the odds were in favor of them finally making a couple of sound decisions (moving Joyce to evenings and the KONG am team to KING).

I am somewhat surprised that they didn't move Amity to the KONG slot, but she may actually prefer the weekend (I know she has a young child and some mothers prefer the weekend am slot because their spouse is home to watch the children).
