August Chicago Radio Ratings

And we will have to look for Robert Feder's report tomorrow, how much you want to bet that the Mix's morning show will again be #1?

And more important, which stations lead in 25-54. The 12+ we see today is way off of the actual sales demo ranks.

The 12+ may or may not be an indicator for the money demos, but there seems to be lots of inertia in there.

However, we have often seen apparent drops in stations where they actually grew in the sales target demos.

In one case, I saw an AC station that had been #1 in 12 plus drop three or four positions and a considerable share. However, the station had been doing research to lower their very old average age, and had implemented the changes, moving them into a solid #1 in 25-54.

So movements in 12+ have too be seen with a bit of skepticism if not outright dismissal.

David, I don't know if you read his report, but he gives all stations retry much in the Chicago area that are in the top 30 between Monday and Sunday, and then he will give in details the top ten radio shows/stations in morning. midday. afternoon, and evenings. Which are weekdays, so he doesn't give reports about weekends. Which would be interesting to see what stations people prefer on weekends like how many people listen on Saturday mornings when they broadcast Weekend Edition Saturday, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, and It's Been a Minute. Or what other stations people prefer to listen to while doing whatever they like to do on weekends. Steve Harvey's morning show always seems to crack the top ten for mornings, even through he took his old talk show out of Chicago, and moved it to Los Angles, that of course have since been canceled, and not in its last wee of repeat airings.

I don't read the report as I have had the actual numbers since noon today.

#1 mornings 25-54 WTMX, followed by WLIT, WKSC, WOJO and WLS-FM.

#1 mornings 12+ is WTMX, then WBBM, WDRV, WSCR and WLIT.

#1 12+ Weekends is WVAZ, then WBBM, WDRV, WTMX and WLIT.

This is interesting in that the 12+ and 25-54 can be way different. Since I seldom look at 12+, some of the differences are surprising in their extent.

You must have done his job, since I didn't see Robert Feder report it, he did his column but no on the ratings which I am surprised by, as he normally had them before.
