The old thing about "morning drive show doing other things than just sports"--it worked for Jason Wolfe, it worked for Dennis and Callahan etc.--but maybe not so much now.
If he weren't working for rival iHeart they might as well have put Doug VB Goudie in, maybe...

The folks at WRKO didn't think VB was a good fit in AM drive.... they could have left him there after they sent his co-host packing....

AM sports talk doesn't have to be talk just about sports. I think Minihane had it right when he said they should talk about stuff that guys talk to their friends about. If there's some big sports-related story (Deflategate, major trade, etc.) then that's the lead topic, but guys talk about other stuff--politics, movies, music, etc.--and they should cover that stuff too. Not traffic, though.

Not exactly setting the dialogue for the city.

What's next? Airline food?

Listened for a few minutes this AM. It's actually worse than T&R . . . which is a remarkable bar to clear. How in the world can EEI hope to sustain an audience with this product?

Supposedly (according to a leak who's proved reliable on Twitter and is anti-Weei) the GH show has drawn a 7.5 in the 25-54 demo in the last several weeks, which seems hard to believe. Whenever I've tuned in it's been remarkably dull. But maybe that's the foil to T&R's endless "WACKY WACKY ZOINKS!" schtick.

A few theories: (1) they'll get listeners on Monday to hear Brady, Fridays for Edelman; (2) during the "Antonio Brown Era" maybe the controversy attracted listeners; (3) could be some folks tune in hoping a Minifan will sneak by the screeners; (4) what's the alternative?
