Looks like Bubba's got a new home....just not in Tampa.

Does he currently have any affiliates? His website was no use...showing stations that dropped him 2 years ago. I know 98Rock out of Charleston, SC was a long time affiliate, but it looks like they dropped him.

I’d be curious what Shannon Burke and Bubba get paid to be on a “hot talk” station of this ilk. Can’t be much...I imagine JVC got em for cheap since Burke was “on the beach”, and Bubba is still just yammering online about his glory days.

That shows how well Country has (not) been working for WWBA. They must be desperate.
It would seem that the classic country was an interim format.

Only time will tell.

Jeff in Sa-ra-so-ta!

I haven't seen anything that said they dropped country. So is it Bubba in the morning and country all day? If not, what's on the rest of the day?

Well, either no one listens to 820 or no one reads this board since my question hasn't been answered. But I can answer it for myself now as I realized that 820 is still streaming. So it's Bubba in the morning and country the rest of the day, unless you're willing to purchase air time.

I just pulled up the stream and took a listen for 10 minutes.... Here's what "you're missing"....

National (ad-council) free PSA ads one-after-another already in progress..... then a 820 WWBA jingle with 10 second music talkover bed or maybe just a "rejoin" bed. not sure.....

Once that music bed ended, well.... then it was just silence.

Now it's been two minutes of silence.

I'm guessing Bubba's program can still go on until 10AM sometimes "or not", and it didn't go until 10 today, and no one's there at the board to realize -- and the computer's just rejoining a silent feed source? :)

Four minutes silence now... OK.

Six minutes... The problem is fixed. Bubba abruptly comes back... Already well into some bit, talking about "large loads" and other suggestive talk.... without any dialogue to support where we're at.... Holy cow... Trainwreck.

Eight minutes, then right on top of the talk, a random 820 WWBA jingle (legal ID I guess) just fired off, and they left the Bubba show in progress... Someone must have been listening, or maybe the computer is just noticing it's 10:00?

Now they are also running 820 News Radio ads.....stopping those in the middle, and airing a news feed because its stop of the hour.

Fun times, this automated "scripted just get'r'done" radio has become....

All I can say is......WHY??????

There was an article I read within the last couple of months about how some radio folks get "rehabbed" after a shocking incident, and the audience seems to forgive them. Stern, Imus, etc., (I tried and couldn't find the article now.)

The article was mentioning the Greaseman, as someone who seems to be banished forever. (You might remember Greaseman ended up buying time on a bunch of daytimer/low power AM's surrounding DC just to stay on the air.

I wonder if Bubba is in that same category. Is he redeemable?

Wayyyy out of date.
That schedule is an ANTIQUE.

The "station's" social media and websites are also way out of date.
I say "station" because by listening to it, one could discern the managers have no idea what they're doing or how to properly run a radio station filled with hours of dead air, programs running over others, etc.

The station since fired all its hosts and went all country.
Now, it's back to talk, but mostly brokered shows.
I even heard an ad announcing how one can buy his own radio hour.

Dan Maduri? No longer there.
The mayor hour? Nope, either.
Almost no one on that "schedule" is still there.

The inventory still runs a solicitation for ad/brokered airtime sales, which still contains the old newstalkflorida.com URL and references to Genesis too.

Seems no one's paying attention to production or ad traffic at the moment.
