I see A&E networks lifestyle channel is now showing repeats of Grey's Anatomy. Bit weird for a lifestyle channel like this showing scripted drama? Like HGTV showing The Big Bang Theory
Its all about $$ and ratings for cable.

Lifetime, which is sister network to A&E is now airing reruns of King of Queens. Like we needed that. King of Queens was already on TBS plus shared between Viacom Networks TVLAND and Nick-at-Nite. Plus I think the show is still airing on local OTA stations.

Another instance of 'the channel name means zip anymore.' They used to be wonderful under the Biography Channel name. Well, I can say the same about A&E, when they had British mystery shows, Evening at the Improv, American Justice and concerts. Viewer's tastes are changing, thus most of the cable networks are showing mostly the same reality and rerun stuff.
Weather Channel was nothing but reality crap last night too. Thank god for WeatherNation. TV Land was airing a rerun of Ashton Kutcher Two and a Half Men that wasn't even 6 or 7 years old. Thank GOD for MeTV!!
Like The BigA said King of Queens is no longer on TBS, and it's also off of CW+, and no local station in the Memphis or Jackson, TN area carries it. And although it really doesn't fit Lifetime, I'd rather see it than their usual lineup of victim of the week movies, and it would be one of the few shows on Lifetime I'd actually watch.
I didn't realize it wasn't on TBS anymore. As for Memphis and Jackson, what's their problem? King of Queen is still on at 12:05AM ad 12:35AM weeknights on FOX 61 here in Hartford. (Though the program guide lists it as 12AM and 12:30AM).
I'm not exactly sure but probably it's because of the network stations carrying reruns of only more recent sitcoms. Even Seinfeld isn't carried anywhere local now, and definitely nothing even older.
Here's how this works: Many syndicated shows, Seinfeld being one of the more expensive ones, are contracted for so many airings or period of time before the contract ends. Once the run ends, the network can decide whether to negotiate another run. Much of that expense depends on the 'reach' of the particular network based on estimated subscribers ('subs') to the various cable/satellite providers or market ranking of local stations.
Some series, like Married with Children, are really inexpensive for local TV stations and available for indefinite airings once a station buys the package. Most stations keep MWC around as an 'evergreen' show.
TBBT will be a cash cow for years. They will keep it in syndication as long as stations want to pay for it.And also on internet TV outlets have been going through similar situations Such as Disney Removing 20th Century Fox, ABC Studios and Disney content from Netflix because it wants its content on venues Disney owns (Hulu and Disney+). Also Big Bang theory has been syndicated to HBO Max recently and this is months after the series finale (Note some parts of the country may still air Big Bang theory on Local TV Outlets) Case and point Fox O&O's KTVU Fox 2 and KTVU+ as of 2019 has a syndication broadcast contract to air Big Bang Theory.
