Call Letter changes in Maine

Anyone remember the SUPER 15 WPNO am 1530 which is now silent, in Auburn.
It was a Top 40 station in the late 60's early 70's.
AM 1450 WOXO in South Paris just picked up the call letters WPNO..
92.7 WEZR-FM Norway ME will be WOXO-FM
100.7 WOXO-FM Mexico ME will be WEZR-FM

Yup, I remember when WPNO in Auburn went on the air. I was working at WCME in Brunswick at the time. WPNO's call letters were based on the owner's name: John Pino.

When I worked in Maine radio in the early/mid 1980's....at WBLM-107.5 (!)....and Z-101 in Portland...1530 in Auburn had changed calls to WRXV and was Country for a few years before flipping to Oldies in 1984. 92.7-Oxford...was WOXO-FM in those days and was Country...

I remember seeing “Magnet and Steel” by Walter Eagan spinning on the turntable while I was visiting on a given Saturday afternoon in 1984. The studio window looked out at the sidewalk. Guess there may have been a brief period of soft A/C.
