The Holiday Lite

Does anybody want to venture a guess as to when you think WLIT 93.9 will make their annual flip to the Holiday Lite? I know it is getting to be late October, but it is going to happen sooner or later, and why do you think on that date they will make their annual switch to Christmas music?

My bet is Friday November 8. Although last year they flipped on a Thursday. So if they follow last year's plan, it will be November 7.

Both dates are possible, I don't think there is anything in the rules that the flip date has to be on a Thursday.

However, books start on that day, and it is somewhat traditional to kick off then.

But that doesn't mean that they have to, even through it was a Thursday last year, I don't have in front of me when they made the flip this year. And they have have always made the flip before Thanksgiving, and looking how late Thanksgiving is this year in the United States. Do you have a guess of when it will be?

I have another question.....Which of these will we hear first? Bing, Dean, Frank, Andy, Nat, or Perry?

Interesting question, if I can I always like to hear what the first Christmas is played, and for all these artists you named even Elvis Presley, since the Lite's playlist the rest of the years are 80''t til now, their voices wouldn't hear heard on this station. Your guess is as good as my guess, if not better then my guess.

For those that want early holiday music the Hallmark channel on Sirius/Xm started today. On Nov 1 they will have 17 more holiday channels.

No suspense from me. By request, I'll start the Christmas music on my Whole House transmitter (92.1FM) on November 1. Then, compliments of me OVERULING said stupid request, I'll give it a rest for most of the remainder of the month.

The mix is traditional stuff on shuffle from a 16-year old Dell laptop. About 225 tracks. I'll launch by hitting "shuffle" and let you know what comes up first. The only thing I can promise is that once again, "Grandma Got Run Over by a Raindeer" will NOT be heard this year.

After we all learn (including me) what song turns out to be first, I'll launch a contest to see if anyone can guess which of my neighbors requested I start the Christmas music earlier than necessary.
