This must be "Empire Building" when you can't get to that 4 share. Radio is a biz rife with slimy Reptilian
players. .
By all accounts, Tom is a class act and consummate pro. He walks away clean...
Isn't that what you said about Roger?
It's an "Everyman For Himself Pirate Ship" business...
The point is that quality people often get treated poorly. Roger was terminated by Entercom for reasons that had nothing to do with job performance. They just threw him overboard. It's an "Everyman For Himself Pirate Ship" business...
Over the Air radio is a no-growth business, and in many markets it is a negative growth business. If there is a future for radio companies, it's going to involve new media but, for the moment, there has been no development of a profitable business model in that area.
So in the meantime, we have the choice of cutting expenses and looking for efficiencies or simple giving up and liquidating.
Reality often bites.
That doesn't sound like a "Glass Half Empty" analysis. That's "Glass Broken and Totally Empty"...

Glass half empty is ignoring the guy you say got a raw deal is now back on the air full time.

I'm sure that he'll be making a lot more than he was with Entercom since he's moving to mornings and replacing three people....
I doubt that. RC probably got plenty of COLA raises over his many years---at the very least. His downfall was that he was likely making so much for his position that he couldn't be ignored in the ledger any longer, regardless of longevity. Radio now more than ever before, is not very sentimental.
I would bet all three WECK morning people made less cumulatively than RC was getting at ETM.
