WELL, Damn man you are way out of the demo like I am. I was raised Catholic, so don't preach to me..I am simply giving my opinion of the dreadful racist radio in the Atlanta market..There is NO variety whatsoever. Either you, not meaning you, are a black hip hopper, or a Christian conservative, Just threw up.. HAPPY HALLOWEEN
You are applying stereotypes, and that is often at the root of racial profiling.
If you are Catholic, you might want to think about Confession and mentioning that you called Catholic radio programming "bs".
How is a radio dial that goes from Regional Mexican to Urban with many stops in between "racist" in any way? The advertising industry has long known that money is always green and has no race. The first station I worked for was called "r&b" at the time and The Mighty Mo was among the top billers in what was then a top 20 market.
Hip hop fans can be Black, white, Hispanic, Asian or whatever. The music long ago crossed racial lines, even though the most inspired and successful artists are African American. Just like Jazz and Rock and Roll and Salsa and Reggaeton (to name a few) there is African inspiration in much of today's music and that's generally a good thing.
So I don't find being called a hip hop partisan to be the insult you intended.
And, proving the final one of your stereotypical responses to be wrong, I am not a conservative Christian. I am, as is even publicly stated in my resume, a Catholic and have even programmed Church-owned stations in several nations in Latin America.
Or maybe I read your sentence structure wrong... and you mean the only radio formats in Atlanta are intended for young African Americans or conservative Christians. I see varieties of country, AC, rock, alt, news/talk, sports, Regional Mexican, Latin Pop/CHR, Catholic religion, business news, classic hits/oldies, jazz, Korean pop, NPR with Classical, Gospel, and others or even cross-genre hybrids. I see Urban and Urban contemporary on a number of signals, but those signals (WVEE, WAMJ, WUMJ, WHTA, WRDG, WWSZ are only 6 out of the 85 signals licensed to the metro while the population overall is 35% Black.
So, please think through your assumptions when you respond on this forum. So far, they have been incorrect in every instance.
