WFAI now WVJJ "Jammin' 96.9" with Wilmington Translator

Forever has dropped gospel "Faith 1510" WFAI and flipped to urban AC "Jammin' 96.9" using the W245CJ translator in Wilmington. Should make a dent in WDAS's numbers in the area.

The 96.9 translator had been Radio Ritmo running from WJBR's HD3.

Is 1510 still gospel?

Uh no. The translator and AM have to be running the same thing since the am is the originating signal for the AM... as the post above said

1510 Salem NJ hasn't played secular music since its country days ended 22 years ago. First it adopted the "Win" Christian preaching/music format when its former sister station 101.7 was sold in 1997, then became Gospel Faith 1510 (with the just-surrendered WFAI calls) in 2001. Granted, its musical purpose today is solely to feed the translator. I guess that's the best it can do until the future of the AM dial is decided.

I'm predicting we'll eventually see a phase-out of lower-powered AM stations like WVJJ, while the associated translators will be allowed to originate their own programming, and adoption of pure digital mode by mid and higher powered AMs as the last analog AM listeners age out.

Really no need for your snarky attitude dude. I just wanted to confirm, that's all.

Anyway, down in Glassboro today, and it's nice to hear WVJJ playing some decent classic RnB. I'll enjoy it as a nice addition to the other RnB stations I always turn to, like classics 107.9.

It also occurred to me this is a quasi-rebirth of Kiss 101.7.

Speaking as moderator, I see nothing "snarky" about the response you received.

It is totally accurate to note that an AM with a translator must be in a 100% simulcast and the translator can not originate programming other than what is on the AM (with an exception for daytimers when the AM is not on the air).

He just like that I've called him out for being inaccurate a time or two before.. (claiming WNJC couldn't pay their power bill) ot coming up with wild ideas out of thin air.
