K259CF South Fresno The Move Part Two and a Observation

Well let’s see if this one actually gets off the ground,I still say Verne needs to drop the same crap 95.7 plays, but they play enough other stuff so I listen...Now the observation,The Fox is always touting local this and that and even have B&T chiming in about local.....well last time I checked B&T was a nationally syndicated show that The Fox has in morning drive time......so tell me about local again and run that commercial,I could use another laugh...

Cackle cackle cackle cackle cackle. cackle cackle cackle cackle cackle cackle cackle.
3 hours of cackle cackle cackle
Ive NEVER EVER been able to listen to more than 3 min of that

"Well let’s see if this one actually gets off the ground" see if what gets off the ground? fill me in, I can't stand to listen but curious what antics he's up to now.

Verne announced that K259CF will move to 102.3 January 1, I guess we will see if it's real this time lol.

Well he had the CP a year ago and decided not to do it I guess. So I wonder what changed and why he doesn't/didn't do it already. Unless, he's getting a new CP with better coverage. I assumed he wasn't happy with the reduced power and coverage of the CP he got on 102.3 with 80 watts so he stayed on 99.7. I guessed he resolved the interference issue with KCIV. (Which I thought in actuality probably really didn't exist.)

Driving down Willow, not far from White's house, the signal of 102.3 is not as strong as the 99.7. Driving around Cedar and Herndon, it's weaker. So, twice the listening area was the promise made. Don't think so... And, really, still running liners with 99.7?

Same site, but 75 watts on 102.3 vs 180 on 99.7

What do you expect? lol

99.7 couldn't go very far before it got clobbered by Porterville on most days. Still claiming to be "More Powerful"? jeez vern, wtf? Can you count? Maybe 102.3 goes a lil bit further before Corcoran or Modesto messes with it...? But still, 75 watts vs 180?
I do hope Cacola has made sure Verne does NOT have access to the knob that could push output beyond the 75 watts. It would be Gary that would be responsible for an "over the licensed power" FCC fine.

102.3 works better for me with my outdoor antenna, KIOO would always bleed in at times lol, and also nice to have KIOO 99.7 back with no interference, so I get one more classic rock choice. KBLO Corcoran doesn't interfere, being on the valley floor and less power than KIOO.

I was driving around Fresno this morning, North and South, and the new signal (102.3)is noticeably weaker, I even heard KBLO Corcoran bleeding in South of 180, heading to 99 on 41 and North of Nees, very weak. They were better off staying on 99.7 with 180 watts.

"They were better off staying on 99.7 with 180 watts." Clearly so. I do not understand why they made the move. I can't see that there was any mandate to do so. IF, in fact there was truly any interference with Bott's 99.9 it was EASILY remedied. Like, how many actual legitimate listeners to KCIV, at that location, could legitimately complain? I would bet ZERO.
I'm sure it was Gary's decision to make, not Vern's. So, WHY did he do it?

There was interference issues and all it takes is a few listeners to complain

Secondary stations (translators, LPFMs) may NOT cause interference to full power stations. So one (or more) valid complaint(s) are enough to get a station to move.

KCIV 99.9 is NOT a Fresno Market station, they are in the Merced/Mariposa market so inference in Fresno shouldn't matter.
KUBB 96.3 is on the same site as KCIV 99.9 with almost the same power, and LPFM 96.1 in Fresno has 200 watts and is 60 feet higher than old 99.7 Fresno, so why are they allowed and not 99.7?

Market has no bearing. All that matters is that KCIV is received by actual listeners, whether in Merced, Fresno, Modesto, or anywhere they can be reached, and they have a credible claim to interference.

96.1 in Fresno is a translator, not an LPFM. My guess would be they are using better equipment than the old 99.7, so no interference with KUBB, no complaints to trigger the need for a move.

102.3 KKDJ is working very well and clear at home and I can go to 99.7 to hear KIOO Porterville With no Interference. actually a good move for KKDJ 102.3,best of both worlds, classic rock, both have different playlist than 95.7 The Fox.

Yes! I love it! I'm glad they moved! Now I hear KIOO better than before, almost like it was before KKDJ was added. I wish 103.7 HD2 was removed, so I can listen to 103.9 KDJK out of Mariposa! Who has an HD radio???
