So it's been known for several weeks now that EKU was ending their lease on WKYL, but it wasn't until late last week we found out that Davenport sold the station to Capcity Communications of Frankfort; and lo and behold, the "Passport" classic hits format gets another new frequency. To be honest, I was kind of surprised to hear CapCity bought the station, considering they implied they were going through some financial difficulties and had to get rid of the "Star" format altogether. I'm not sure what the logic was behind purchasing this station, especially since its coverage footprint is VERY similar to 103.7's. It covers Lexington a little bit better than 103.7, but not by much. Thoughts?
