KISS-FM flips to Christmas

According to Radio Insight, 100.5 KISS-FM has flipped to Christmas with a new format expected after Christmas.

A format change is in the works at iHeartMedia Hot AC “100.5 Kiss-FM” WLGX Louisville KY as the station has dropped all of its previous elements and stunting with Christmas Music as “Christmas 100.5“.

WLGX becomes the second all-Christmas station in the Louisville market alongside SummitMedia AC “106.9 Play” WVEZ. The station cracked a 2 share in the October Nielsen Audio monthly after hovering in the mid 1’s for the past few months.

WLGX carried the Dave & Jimmy morning show based at 97.9 WNCI Columbus.
 
I rather see them go back to 90s or a mainstream rock station. But ya already got qmf so probably not. How bout an oldies alternative format? We will know just under a month.
 
This is the first time that I've seen a station dump their format and not found a single complaint online from anybody at all. And I searched all of the social media outlets where people complain about these things. KISS FM truly is/was the most boring format in all of Louisville.

Yeah I would love to see the FOX come back, but that won't happen or even Gen-X.

Going on a limb here, but maybe Mix 100.5.
 
Sleuthing around at DNSlytics.com, I noticed that iHeartMedia has registered 1005louisville.com and 1005sdf.com, which tells us almost nothing.
 
I guess they're going to stick with this Christmas format just a little bit longer. Which, by the way, is one of the worst Christmas formats I've ever heard! I was listening to it a bit today for the first time to see if there would be any change. Christmas formats are bad enough since they're so repetitive anyway, but the one on 100.5 is even more repetitive and obnoxious than the usual Christmas format.
 
Well the iheart christmas station in la is still playin 24/7 santa radio. Plus in louisville 100.5 has it all to themselves since play flipped back to normal format.
 
They're up to something now at least. The playlist is all over the place and doesn't give any solid clues as to what they're up to, but still the best it has been since about 2013 or so, when they started the evolution from Gen-X to MyFM. In fact, most of it even sounds like Gen-X.
 
A lot of people are thinking that The Fox will return, but I don't see that happening. It would take audience from QMF.
 
If the current playlist is any indication, I'm guessing Gen X Radio Version 2.0, only it won't be called that. Maybe skewing more late 90s/early 00s than the original Gen-X did. It was a nice format until they started the evolution to MyFM. That was a pretty drawn out format transition from what I remember, they started slipping in the current hits more and more over a period of a year or two to the point where when it officially became MyFM, nothing had changed but the branding.
 
Well louisville has had MIX 102 from 91 till may 97.

And Mix 103.9 from 97 till 99 ish so y not try it again on MIX 100.5???

Time will tell.

I think 103.9 was drawn out just about as long last year. 103.9 "The Party." I bet they'll be whatever they're planning to be sometime on Monday.
