Black News Channel To Launch Feb. 10

https://tvnewscheck.com/article/top-news/242844/black-news-channel-to-launch-feb-10/

Black News Channel (BNC) updated the launch of the African American cable news network to Black History Month — on Feb. 10.

Network executives previously announced plans to launch to an audience significantly larger than its original projections. BNC said this new date “provides the time necessary to build out the distribution platforms, apps, and other infrastructure necessary.”

“Black History Month is an appropriate time to launch the Black News Channel”, said Bob Brillante, co-founder and CEO of BNC. “We are committed to make sure that when our viewers tune in they are witness to a quality viewing experience.”

This network will launch around the time of Primaries in some states though.

News is news.

Personally I don't see how viewing it through a racial prism is going to work out
any better than viewing it through a political one.

News is news.

The history of demographic news presentation goes back to 1964 and ABC Radio creating four news networks for radio stations. Not long after that, Mutual Broadcasting came up with Mutual Black Network, later Sheridan Radio Network. It's now called the American Urban Radio Network. NBC Radio created a news network targeted for young audiences called The Source in the 70s. Then you had MTV News in the 80s. So there's a long history of demographic radio news networks.
